FROM THE DESK OF THE CEO

Your Chamber at Work!

April was a beautiful reminder of why this work matters. Our Chamber was busy this month in the very best way, showing up for our community, our members, and the next generation of leaders right here in Delray Beach.

It was an honor to join fellow Chamber members at the HERD Foundation’s Spring Dinner, Year of the Horse. This special evening celebrated equine-assisted programs that support veterans, active duty service members, their families, and community members seeking connection, healing, and belonging. Being in that room, surrounded by people committed to making a real difference in the lives of those who have sacrificed so much, was truly moving. Evenings like this remind us of the important role our Chamber plays in lifting up causes that reflect our shared values.

I am also incredibly proud of the young leaders in our YPAD program. Sarah and her fellow members attended the Young Friends of Palm Beach Symphony event at Aloft Delray Beach, where they made meaningful connections with fellow Chamber members including representatives from Plumosa School of the Arts and Arts Garage. Watching the next generation of Delray’s business community build relationships rooted in a shared passion for the arts and civic engagement is exactly what YPAD is all about. These are the connections that will shape the future of our city.

And for the third consecutive year, senior business students from Atlantic High School participated in Habitat for Humanity’s Nonprofit Business Day. Students began with hands-on work at a Habitat job site, painting a home for a neighbor in need through our Home Repair Program. They then visited our offices to hear from our Executive Leadership team, who shared their career journeys, their educational backgrounds, and what inspired them to pursue purpose-driven work in the nonprofit sector. The conversations were rich, the questions were thoughtful, and the energy in the room was something special. Investing in these students is not just good for their futures. It is good for ours.

April exemplified what the Delray Beach Chamber stands for: showing up, lifting others, and building a community we are all proud to call home. I am grateful for every member, partner, and volunteer who made this month possible.

With gratitude,

Stephanie Immelman
