Your Chamber at Work – May 2026
May was a month full of connection, celebration, and civic pride. From festive fundraisers to heartfelt recognition of those who serve, your Chamber was there representing the business community and strengthening the ties that make Delray Beach such a special place to live and work.
Rotary Club of Delray Beach 2nd Annual “Run For The Roses” Kentucky Derby-Style Celebration:
Hats off to the Rotary Club of Delray Beach for a spectacular evening! Stephanie and fellow Chamber members were proud to attend the 2nd Annual “Run For The Roses,” a Kentucky Derby-style celebration held at Old School Square in the heart of downtown Delray Beach.
The evening brought together the thrill of race day with a deeply meaningful mission: raising funds for scholarships for ten graduating high school seniors and providing essential items to nearly 100 children experiencing homelessness in Delray Beach. Guests enjoyed festive Derby-chic attire, outfit competitions, and the grand entrance through a rose-adorned arch into a beautifully lit white tent.
As one of the city’s oldest nonprofits, the Delray Beach Rotary Club has awarded more than 750 scholarships over the years, a legacy of investing in the next generation of community leaders. It was a beautiful night, a worthy cause, and a reminder of why community showing up for community matters so much.
Annual Mayors Lunch with Leadership Delray
During Public Safety Day, Leadership Delray hosted its Annual Mayors Lunch, one of the most cherished traditions of the Leadership Delray program. Participants had the distinct pleasure of sharing a meal and a conversation with some of Delray Beach’s most influential leaders: present and past Mayors Tom Carney, David W. Schmidt, Jay Alperin, and Shelly Petrolia.
Each Mayor brought a unique perspective, sharing candid insights and personal experiences from their time in office, the challenges they navigated, the decisions that shaped the city, and the moments they are most proud of. For our Leadership Delray members, it was an extraordinary opportunity to hear firsthand what civic leadership truly looks like.
21st Annual Delray Beach Police Awards Gala
Sarah and members of our YPAD Committee were honored to attend the 21st Annual Delray Beach Police Awards Gala, held on Friday, May 29 at the beautiful Opal Grand Oceanfront Resort. Produced by Delray Citizens for Delray Police, the gala has become one of the most meaningful community traditions in our city.
The elegant evening brought together more than 350 residents, business leaders, and community supporters for a night of dinner, dancing, and heartfelt recognition of the men and women who keep Delray Beach safe. This year’s gala honored sworn officers with more than 20 years of dedicated service, alongside recipients of the Police Officer of the Year, Employee of the Year, Supervisor of the Year, and Rookie of the Year awards.
For more than 39 years, Delray Citizens for Delray Police has stood alongside the Delray Beach Police Department, supporting officers, their families, and the community through scholarships, equipment donations, youth programs, and events like this one. Attending alongside our YPAD members was a privilege and a powerful reminder of the bond between our community and those who serve it.
