A NIGHT OUT IN DELRAY BEACH HELPS MAKE THE HOLIDAYS BRIGHTER FOR CHILDREN IN FOSTER CARE

Rockin’ Into the Holidays Brings the Community Together October 21 to Support Friends of Foster Children of Palm Beach County

For children impacted by foster care in Palm Beach County, the holidays can come during a time already filled with uncertainty, change and questions about where they belong. On Wednesday, October 21, the community can help make that season a little brighter simply by going out for the night. Rockin’ Into the Holidays, a Do Good Delray event benefiting Friends of Foster Children of Palm Beach County, will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Hawkers Asian Street Food in downtown Delray Beach. For just $35, guests will enjoy dinner, a complimentary cocktail and live music from Midnight 3. It is less than many people might spend on a typical dinner out in Delray Beach, but on this night, that same $35 also helps support local children and families impacted by foster care. For many of us, the holidays are filled with things we barely have to think about. A favorite meal. Presents under the tree. Family traditions. Laughter around the table. The comfort of knowing where we belong.

For a child navigating foster care, those things cannot always be taken for granted.

A child may be celebrating in a new home. Away from siblings. Away from familiar traditions. Surrounded by people who are doing everything they can to provide love and stability during a time of enormous change.

That is where Friends of Foster Children of Palm Beach County steps in.

For nearly 40 years, Friends of Foster Children has helped ensure children and families impacted by foster care have access to the resources, opportunities and support they need. The organization works to fill the gaps so children can feel safe, valued and supported, while giving them more opportunities to experience something every child deserves: the chance to simply be a kid.

Rockin’ Into the Holidays gives the community an easy and meaningful way to be part of that mission.

Guests can spend a Wednesday evening on Atlantic Avenue enjoying dinner at Hawkers Asian Street Food, a complimentary cocktail and live music from Midnight 3, while knowing their night out is also helping children right here in Palm Beach County.

For $35, guests get an entire evening out while giving back at the same time. Dinner, a cocktail and live music are all included in the ticket price, making Rockin’ Into the Holidays an opportunity to enjoy a night in downtown Delray Beach while supporting a cause that touches families throughout the community.

Guests are also encouraged to wear their favorite band T shirt for a chance to win a prize. Raffles throughout the evening will provide additional opportunities to support Friends of Foster Children.

The event is part of the Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce’s Do Good Delray initiative, an annual monthlong effort that brings local businesses and nonprofit organizations together to Partner with Purpose. Throughout October, businesses and nonprofits team up to create events that raise awareness, build relationships and generate support for causes throughout the community.
