On Sunday, November 5 at 3:00 pm, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in
Delray Beach will observe All Souls’ Day with a solemn Requiem Mass sung by the
Chancel Choir and accompanied by a chamber orchestra. The liturgy will feature
the musical setting “For us the Living: A Requiem” by American composer
Alfred Fedak.

This setting uses the traditional texts, both in English and Latin, of the
Requiem service including “The Lord is my Shepherd,” “Pie Jesu” and “Sanctus.”
All Souls’ Day (celebrated in Mexico as Day of the Dead) is a Christian
observance that recognizes all of our beloved departed. This is a natural
complement to All Saints’ Day on November 1 which celebrates the named
Christian saints (and from which Halloween developed the evening before.)

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church is located at 188 South Swinton
Avenue in Delray Beach.  Doors open at
2:30 p.m. This concert is free of charge, but a free-will offering will be
taken.
