The bus tour will ride through or stop at the following historical districts: Spady Cultural Heritage Museum/West Settlers Historic District, Old School Square Historic District, Nassau Park Historic District,  Del-Ida Park Historic District, Marina Historic District and Sandoway House.

The tour guide will narrate the relevance and unique characteristics of each stop and neighborhood. However, tours may be customized, based on additional stops, which may include a tour inside a private, historical residence or a tour of the Delray Beach Historical Society’s Cason Cottage. The tour guide also changes the narration, including different anecdotes and special markers, depending upon riders’ questions and happenings in the City. These highlights are part of every tour, but they are not indicative the comprehensiveness or distinction of each monthly tour.

The Spady Cultural Heritage Museum – Home of Solomon D. Spady, the most prominent African American educator and community leader in Delray Beach from 1922 to 1957. The home, turned museum, opened in July 2001 in the West Settlers’ Historical District and is the only African American cultural heritage museum of its kind in Palm Beach County. Celebrating 25 years of museum operation and 100 years of the historic home’s existence in 2026, The Spady Museum is continuing to raise funds for The House Still Stands campaign.

The West Settlers Historic District has a high threshold of historical significance. It is culturally meaningful for its association with the pioneering African-American families who helped settle the City. Education and religion were the two most important institutions in the early days of the neighborhood. A school, three churches, and a Masonic Lodge were all established within the West Settlers Historic District between 1895 and 1920. The district contains 53 structures, 23 of which have historic status, including the Spady Cultural Heritage Museum.
