Join the Spady Museum and Old School Square for the Black Movie Experience (BMX), a free community film series showcasing powerful stories and perspectives from the African Diaspora.

This featured screening, The Forgotten Occupation: Jim Crow Goes to Haiti, explores the lasting impact of the U.S. occupation of Haiti through the eyes of Haitian filmmaker Alain Martin. Framed as a letter to his grandfather, the film examines the legacy of racial violence, foreign intervention, and the complex relationship between Haiti and the United States, while challenging perceptions of political and economic stability.
